Activities

Outdoor :
Enjoy the absence of light pollution and the clear nights in the Petit Buëch valley to live a sensorial experience in connection with the cosmos.

Exploration of the sky :
Learn to spot on your own the most well-known constellations and bright stars as well as the planets of the season.
Grande Ourse Constellations     Orion
Initation to observation :
Observe the celestial objects of the moment with a telescope : the moon, the planets and some others...
Télescope
These two activities are generally processed together in an animation.  Celestial mechanics chooses the evening program and the weather determines the possibility of achieve it.

Indoor :
Feet on the ground, gazing at the stars... and beyond !

Educational workshop :
An observation outside is all the more successful when one has understood the basics of celestial movements. Take the time to master the sky by discovering it through several sessions each dedicated to a theme, including small playful experiences.

Feet on the ground :

To better locate and observe with instruments

  • Knowing how to locate oneself on Earth in order to understand the movements of the stars and planets
  • Quietly learn to read a sky map and understand how it works
  • Become familiar with planetarium software to prepare an observation
  • Explore the Sun, star families and their colors to better recognize them in the sky
  • Discover the little secrets of the Moon

And to go further

  • Understand the key moments of the Earth’s rotation around the Sun and make the connection with the seasons... and other important elements of astronomical observation
  • Visit the planets of the solar system and their satellites and understand how they go round in the terrestrial sky
  • In small touches throughout the workshops, approach scientific observations through images provided by large instruments.
  • Link science and the representation of the sky through the arts

These workshops can be put into practice with outdoor activities.
They are accessible to all audiences, from 8 to 88 years old. They can be intergenerational and are particularly suitable in associative structures.

Lights of the universe
gazing at the stars... and beyond !

For 100 years, astronomy has seen the development of instruments that have revolutionized our vision of the universe, and which still regularly provide us with surprising, unexpected observations... and their set of questions challenging our understanding of the universe.
Some of these instruments observe lights invisible to our eyes but carrying essential information and beautifully transposed into the colors that our eyes understands.

Conferences
The subjects of astronomy are very numerous and very different. Here are some examples but do not hesitate to contact me if you wish a particular theme to be raised.

  • Celestial mechanics
  • Solar System
  • Stars
  • Lights of astronomy
  • Radio astronomy
  • Astronomy in History
  • Art and astronomy
